Zak Cummings steps in to face Tim Kennedy in Sept. 25 “Strikeforce Challengers” main event

With the loss of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos to a training injury,
rising prospect Zak Cummings (10-0) has agreed to step up to main event
status.

Cummings has agreed to face Tim Kennedy (10-2) in the featured contest
of Strikeforce’s Sept. 25 “Challengers Series” event in Bixby, Okla.

Sherdog.com was the first to report the possibility of the contest, and
MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the
event that both fighters have agreed to the contest and an announcement
is expected to come from the organization in the next few days.
