WEC 48: Anthony Pettis Beats Alex Karalexis
By MMAEdition on Dec 31, 1969 with Comments 0
Anthony Pettis showed off a great combination of stand-up striking and submission skills in a lightweight bout Saturday night at WEC 48, getting Alex Karalexis to tap out in the second round of their fight in Sacramento.
Pettis landed a kick to the face in the early going and landed several kicks to the legs as the first round wore on, employing his stand-up strategy perfectly as Karalexis had little answer. In the closing seconds of the first round Karalexis took Pettis down, but it was definitely Pettis’s round.
