“Fight of the Night” honors, a $10,000 bonus check, and keeping a loss off his resume helped soften the blow, but WEC 47 fighter George Roop still thinks he deserved a win at this past weekend’s World Extreme Cagefighting event in Columbus, Ohio.
After a costly point deduction due to a questionable low-blow foul, Roop’s would-be split-decision win over Leonard Garcia instead was declared a rare split draw.
On today’s edition of MMAjunkie.com Radio, Roop said he feels the referee was out of position to make that call and that a questionable second-round warning prompted the unfair point deduction.
