As MMAjunkie.com first reported, a cut suffered in training has forced Rob Emerson (9-7 MMA, 2-1 UFC) out of his UFC 101 bout with George Sotiropoulos (9-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC). Now his replacement has been made official.
As expected, the UFC recently announced George Roop (9-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will fill the void left by Emerson on the evening’s preliminary card.
Headlined by a lightweight title fight between current champion B.J. Penn and challenger Kenny Florian, “UFC 101: Declaration” takes place Aug. 8 in Philadelphia.
