Kickstarting the promotional push for next month’s championship quadruple-header, Strikeforce on Tuesday hosted a press conference at Madison Square Garden in New York City with headliners Gina Carano and Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos.

Strikeforce provided the following photos, courtesy of veteran combat-sports photographer Esther Lin, from the presser, meet-and-greet and outdoor open workout session.

Carano and Santos, former stars of the now-defunct EliteXC promotion, meet for Strikeforce’s first-ever 145-pound women’s title on Aug. 15 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., in a Showtime-televised event.
