Medical Beat: A look at Ben Henderson’s eye surgery and MMA’s pre-fight medical evaluations

In a recent interview, WEC lightweight Ben Henderson discussed how he would hide his particularly poor vision from doctors during his routine pre-fight physicals. He said that he went as far as memorizing the eye exam chart to sneak by and not be disqualified from participation.

But Henderson recently underwent surgery to improve his vision in time for next week’s WEC 43 interim lightweight title fight with Donald Cerrone.
