Matt Hamill Retiring From MMA

The 34 year old light heavyweight Matt Hamill (10-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) announced his retirement on his personal website today after suffering a second round TKO loss to Alexander Gustaffson at UFC 133 this past Saturday. This is Hamill’s second consecutive loss which he also lost to a decision against Quinton Jackson at UFC 130.

Hamill has had 13 MMA fights in the UFC and has fought top fighters like Tito Ortiz, Jon Jones, Keith Jardine and more.

Hamill after his loss to Jackson was pretty much set on retiring due to constant pain from injuries but wanted to give it another try after his family, friends, coaches and mainly his daughter encouraged him to do so.

A movie about his life debuts this fall.
