Former champ Forrest Griffin says UFC 106 bout with Tito Ortiz “a big deal”

Former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has been one
of the UFC’s most popular fighters throughout the four-and-a-half years
that have followed his 2005 victory over Stephan Bonnar in the finale
of the first “The Ultimate Fighter.”
But Griffin’s reputation has taken a bit of a hit in recent months with back-to-back losses to Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans.
Now Griffin meets Tito Ortiz (15-6-1 MMA, 14-6-1 UFC) in the headlining
contest of Saturday’s “UFC 106: Griffin vs. Ortiz II” in Las Vegas, and
the 30-year-old says he knows what’s on the line.
