UFC president and former Bostonian Dana White said the UFC “absolutely” will make its Beantown debut in the summer of 2010.
A bill that calls for the Massachusetts State Boxing Commission to expand to a general athletic commission and oversee MMA events was overwhelming approved by state representatives last month. Gov. Deval Patrick is expected to sign it into effect early next year.
While a special in-studio guest on Friday’s “PRIMETIME” edition of MMAjunkie.com Radio, White said both Fenway Park and TD Garden (also known as the Boston Garden) are under consideration for the debut show.
