Brian Bowles defends bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at WEC 47 on March 6

WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-0 MMA, 5-0 WEC) will defend
his title for the first time against top challenger Dominick Cruz (14-1
MMA, 4-1 WEC) in March.

MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the
organization that Bowles and Cruz have verbally agreed to meet at the
as-yet-unannounced “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” event on March 6 in
Columbus, Ohio.

Bout agreements are expected to be finalized shortly.
