Alex Karalexis vs. Anthony Pettis scrapped from WEC 43; main-card replacement not determined

Next month’s WEC 43 event has lost one of its 11 scheduled bouts.

Veteran lightweight Alex Karalexis, who joined the WEC after a stint on “The Ultimate Fighter 1″ and a subsequent run in the UFC, suffered an undisclosed injury and can’t compete at the Sept. 2 event, the WEC announced overnight.

His main-card fight with Anthony Pettis has been scratched from the card, though the organization has not determined which fight will takes its spot on the Versus broadcast.
